The KNOWLEDGETUBE
I'm
a recent convert to the world of knowledge-based content, and I'm already
hooked. The credit for my insanity in this field goes to Netflix's "The Patriotic Act" by Hassan Minaj. It was
such a chill show, I could laugh my heart out and at the same get a hell of
knowledge about something exceptional. Then I found out about his father (No!
not the literal one!, the one who introduced him to the genera) TREVOR NOAH. OH,
Trevor Noah! what do tell about him? Once, I was dreaming about marrying him, not only for his chocolaty good looks but also for his wit and
humour in presenting US politics. My obsession with these guys has gotten
so out of hand that I started neglecting my old FRIENDS, (not my
"friends" per se, duh! OUR friends; Chandler! Joye! You Know!).
But
let's talk about the real star of the show here- the knowledge-based content on
YouTube. There are now numerous channels across continents offering insightful and engaging content. Personally, I am a religious follower of channels like Dhruv Rathee, Soch by Mohak, and Think School. These channels
have millions of followers and it's great to see such informative content being
shared widely.
However,
I can't help but feel that some amazing homegrown content is not getting the
recognition they deserve. That's why I've compiled a list of my top five Nepali
knowledge-based content creators who are producing incredible content. I urge everyone to check out their channels and support these talented
creators. It's a shame that their amazing content is not reaching a larger
audience, so let's do our part to give them the appreciation and recognition
they deserve! Please write to me if I am missing out something.
The Nepali Comment is hands down the most amazing thing to come out of Nepal since momos! I stumbled upon it when they had just 25K subscribers, but now they are at 156K! And I tell you it is not enough! Founded two years ago by Dipesh, the channel is now run by him and his talented team. They create videos that are literally crash courts on Nepalese current affairs, history, and politics. Once you start watching their videos, you won't be able to stop - it's like binge-watching your favourite show on Netflix! With around 40 videos already posted, a wealth of knowledge is waiting for you. So go ahead, check them out - it's time to get schooled on all things Nepali!
The In-Depth Story is like the Sherlock Holmes of YouTube channels, always uncovering the fascinating stories and content that others overlook. I feel like I stumbled upon buried treasures when I discovered them last year. They are amazingly talented and they cover those stories and content that are widely unexplored. Their research team should get a gold medal on researching (if there is any). You can see their growth in the quality of their content and presentation - it's like watching a caterpillar turn into a butterfly! They are currently at 119k subscribers with 170 videos, if you are not among the 119 K subscribers you are missing out.
Well, well, look here is one famous YouTube channel on my list. If you have not heard of the channel, you might have heard of the owner Sanjog Koirala. No? that's ok! then you might have heard about his wife Barsa Raut, the actress? Come on! Everyone knows her. No? then you've probably sipped on coffee at Chiya Aada, LOL! Haven’t you? The point is he is pretty famous. His channel boasts 270k subscribers, and for good reason! He is a successful entrepreneur and he shares his knowledge about financial literacy through his YouTube channel, which is incredible. I knew about SIP through his channel, if you don't know about SIP, go check out his channel. Now!
If you are not a follower of Whysooffended, then you are missing out on some serious laughs and knowledge. Binayak is like a shooting star, he appears once every nine months with a bang and then disappears like Only Desi. But as people say good things take time, the WSO channel presents serious topics in a hilarious way that is bound to offend the government in some way or the other. And, that's the beauty of it. Binayak was a pioneer in this field and we need more from him. Why would anyone not be offended when you don't post much? Binayak Kuikel, if you are reading this, we are waiting for your funny knowledge-based shenanigans!
Project Kura by Saroj Karki is a baby in this field, they are only 21 videos old but their impressive content has made a big splash. Their post is already at the level of The Nepali Comment and that is crazy for a three-month-old channel. Although I haven't had the chance to delve too deeply into their content, it's clear that Saroj Karki and his team are doing something right. I am sure in no time their 18.7K subscribers will turn into 187K and more. Don't miss out on this up-and-coming channel!
These are only the top five on my list but Hey, hey, hey! Don't stop at just these five channels! There are plenty of other Nepali content creators out there that are absolutely killing it! like Random Nepali, Zunu Y, K Dhanush, Whylosh, and so many more! These content creators are making a significant impact on the platform and are keeping their viewers entertained and informed. So let's show our support and give these talented individuals the recognition they deserve. With such talented individuals, I am sure the future of the Nepali YouTube community is bright, and I can't wait to see what they come up with next. All my love and respect to you guys!
Thank you!
